Post Wilma

Hey Kiddo!

I hear you lost a puppy. You know Grandma's dog passed away too. Misha. Do you see grandma and grandpa often? I bet they love seeing you.

Now that the hurricane season has passed, you should find a holiday to come visit. November is the best month to visit, maybe you can come for Thanksgiving.

Call me anytime you want to kiddo.

A productive weekend

Hey bro.

Hope you had a nice weekend. I got a fair amount of rest and I was productive also.

That's something I wanted to share with you.

I always feel better about myself and "things" when I do the things I am supposed to or I do the things that need to be done. Otherwise there are things "undone" and these -not done things-take up space . They clog up my head and maybe even my heart. Like this weekend, I made up for some chores I had been putting off. Some wood staining, some clothes washing. Little things that once I finished them I felt great. Cleaning my room, doing my homework are little things that don't seem so important but they really are.

But you will figure that out on your own because you are very smart.

Love you, and thanks for letting me share.

A win

Hey Justin!

The Rams won huh? Law of averages at work I guess.

Did you see your Pats lose and my Ravens win?
It was a good Sunday. And the Arizona kicker booted 6 field goals in one game.

I got your voice messages this morning, I always forget to check my phone over the weekend.
Do you still play your keyboard?

From my brother...

I Really Miss You
Hi Jason,How you doing? I saw your "I love Huckabees" post and I think that's true. You can't pretend mental pain hurt you and if you hide it I believe that can lower your self-esteem.

Rams Won!!!
Hi Jason,Guess what happened for the first time in 16 years? The Rams won a game. It was against the hardest team in the jv league. The beat Manheim. It was so awesome. Say hi as soon as you can.

Afraid of pain

Hey Justin!

I just watched a movie called I (heart) Huckabees.

It was about "existential" stuff meaning the characters and the theme of the movie talked a lot about "human existence". You know, like who am I, why am I here...the unanswerable questions.

There were some things I wanted to share with you.

The Bible says-we shouldn't spend too time worrying about questions we can't answer.

Don’t waste time on arguing unimportant points or unanswerable questions! Titus 3:9, NIV. "Avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels, because these are unprofitable and useless."

But asking questions is important. Seeking answers is a true joy in life, finding them would be a disapointment.

And in the movie, I was reminded that I shouldn't try and hide from my hurts and fears. I spend too much time pretending I'm not afraid and not hurt. But talking with people I really trust about how I really feel helps me to understand my self and my feelings better. Then I don't have to pretend. I can just be me.

Thanks for letting me share with your bro. I love you!
